Camille Rose (Dvorak) Oliva, age 95, of Seward, passed away April 9, 2024, at the Ridgewood Care Center in Seward.

Camille was born March 6, 1929, on a farm southwest of Wilber to John and Emma (Salda) Dvorak. She grew up on the farm and attended rural school District #8, and she graduated from Wilber High School in 1946. She worked for the City of Wilber as a bookkeeper for three years. In 1949, she was married to Tom J. Oliva of Tobias, and they farmed in the Milligan and Tobias vicinities until they moved to Milligan in 1958.

For eight years, they owned and operated Tom’s Place, a tavern and cafe. In 1965, they purchased the Stastny Insurance Agency and Income Tax Service. They operated this together until Tom’s death on Dec. 17, 1977. Camille stayed on in the business, and in 1979, was joined by Rosanne Jonas, her daughter-in-law to be. In May of 1980, Camille left Milligan and moved to Beatrice, where she worked for the Farmer’s Home Administration for several years.  

Camille belonged to Lincoln Area Mensa and VFW Auxiliary in Beatrice.

Camille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Sylvia and Joe Duba and Norma and Gene Rezabek; and her long-time friend and companion, Calvin King.

Camille is survived by her sons, Scott and Rosanne Oliva of Milligan, and Mark and Diana Oliva of Milford; grandchildren, Rhiannon and Shaun Baumhover of Seward, Erik and Nickie Oliva of Gretna, Tara and Zane Brodeur, Cañon City, Colorado, Tom Oliva of Milligan, Travis and Courtney Oliva of Gretna; and great-grandchildren, Makenna Baumhover, Liam and Paxton Oliva, Camille and Adaline Brodeur, and Lilly and Eisley Oliva.

A graveside committal of Ashes for Camille will be Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at Bohemian National Cemetery in Milligan. There will be a meal and time of remembrance at Charlie's Pub following the committal of ashes. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Blue Valley Pet Rescue in Seward. Arrangements by Farmer and Son Funeral Home.
