RESOLUTION NO. 2024-16 VILLAGE OF DEWITT, NEBRASKA A RESOLUTION BY THE CHAIRPERSON AND VILLAGE BOARD OF THE VILLAGE OF DEWITT, NEBRASKA AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR USE BY THE VILLAGE. Recitals A. Melissa M. Mihm and Kevin F. Mihm, own certain real property located in DeWitt, Saline County and more particularly described as: LOTS NUMBERED EIGHT HUNDRED NINETY (890) EIGHT HUNDRED NINETY-ONE (891) AND EIGHT HUNDRED NINETY-TWO (892), ORIGINAL TOWN OF DEWITT, SALINE COUNTY, NEBRASKA. B. The Villages acquisition of the above-described real property will benefit the Village and its residents as the property has become dangerous and an unsafe structure. C. Neb. Rev. Stat. § 18-1755 and DeWitt Municipal Code § 6-116 authorize the Village to acquire real property upon approval of the acquisition by action taken in a public meeting after notice and public hearing. D. The Village has held a public hearing and desires to purchase the real property at the Saline County Sheriff’s sale on September 5, 2024. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Village of DeWitt, Nebraska: 1. The Village hereby approves the acquisition of real property from Melissa M. Mihm and Kevin F. Mihm, through the Saline County Sheriff’s sale in accordance with the authority under Nebraska law and the DeWitt Municipal Code. 2. The Village Clerk is hereby authorized to place a bid and to take all actions necessary to effectuate the acquisition of real property from the Saline County Sheriff’s sale.
