MINUTES OF THE DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD SPECIAL MEETING held Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Wattjes, Weise and Workman Absent: None Also present: Utility Superintendent – Hunter Oliver, Utility Maintenance – Kyle Meers, and Clerk - Moria Holly Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. 1. 2024-2025 Tax Levy - The Village Board agreed to set the property tax at $144,741.00, a 6% increase, with the tax levy being set at 0.437577, a 5.41% increase. 2. Ordinance 792 – The Village Board agreed to postpone until the September 3rd Board Meeting. 3. Motor Grader – The Village Board agreed to proceed with selling the motor grader by public online auction with Purple Wave. Discussion Utility Superintendent, Hunter Oliver, addressed the Village Board regarding Wastewater Treatment Plant issues, water main repairs on Fillmore Ave, and updating the Village’s well controls. The Village Clerk, Moria Holly, discussed with the Village Board regarding purchasing a nuisance property by Sheriff’s Sale in September.
